This course is designed to
teach you what to do in an emergency before medical help arrives. This course is important not only to divers,
but to all individuals since you may
be faced with an emergency in your lifetime.
It is important that you know how to recognize an emergency and how to
respond. The purpose of this course is to help you feel more confident of your
ability to act appropriately in the event of an emergency. On
completion of this course you will be able to:

Identify
ways to prevent injury and/or illness.
·
Recognize
when an emergency has occurred.
·
Follow
emergency action steps in any situation.
·
Provide
basic care for injury and/or sudden illness until the victim can receive professional
medical attention.
At the end of this course
you will be issued a certificate of CPR and first aid, more importantly though,
you will take with you the knowledge and ability to aid someone in need in any
critical situation. Being able to help others,
is the greatest reward of all.
COURSE CONSISTS OF:
1.
8 hrs.
classroom session in CPR and first aid
2.
Active
student participation of techniques on mannequins
3.
Active
student participation of techniques on First Aid

An emergency is an
unforeseen event or condition that requires a prompt response. In the event of injury or medical emergency, a
victim’s life and/or health may very well depend upon your ability to react
promptly, make a quick decision and render an appropriate level of first aid
care until the emergency medical personnel arrives on the scene and takes over. This
is an important course for all individuals.
