NAUI Skin Diver Preparation Course

Learn to easily go below the surface where you will discover corals, fishes, crustaceans - everything from dolphins to dugongs face-to-face. Your NAUI Instructor will coach you through the process of skin diving, and your fun will grow as your skills increase!

OVERVIEW                                                                                     

This is a preparation course in snorkeling and breath-hold diving. Upon successful completion of this course in the pool, students are considered competent to engage in open water skin diving activities under NAUI Instructor supervision. The course is designed to:

• Develop skin diving skills for swimmers and scuba divers.
• Afford non-scuba divers the opportunity for diving-related training.
• Provide preparatory training for scuba diving.
• Age. Minimum is 8 years.

CLASS SESSIONS REQUIRED

• 1 Classroom session / 1 hour
• 2 pool sessions / 2 hours each
• Minimum 4 students per class

REQUIRED EQUIPMENTS

• Mask, Snorkel, Fins
• Wetsuit—a wetsuit of minimum 3 mm thickness that covers the torso for thermal protection in pool temperature 80F for a prolonged period of time

If certification is desired, minimum of TWO open water dives conducted in the ocean under NAUI Instructor supervision is required.  This can be completed through any NAUI associated dive training center.
