Course Objectives
The NAUI Open Water Scuba Diver (Autonomous – ISO Level 2) course is NAUI's entry-level scuba certification. Upon successful completion, divers will have the fundamental knowledge and skills to plan and conduct open-water dives with a buddy, without direct supervision, under conditions similar to those experienced during training. Ages 10+ welcome.
Course includes:
NAUI online eLearning
One 3-hour classroom session
One-on-one academic workshop (up to 2 hours, available upon request)
Three pool training sessions (3–4 hours each; approximately 11 hours total)
Up to six open-water training dives
Two open-water boat trips aboard the SoCal Diver ($248 value per trip - students may upgrade to other boat trips by paying the difference in price)
Optional Add-on
NAUI Enriched Air Nitrox Diver Course - Add to your Open Water course for just $150 ($48 savings)
Includes one additional 3-hours Nitrox classroom session and NAUI Nitrox eLearning

Student Responsibilities
Personal skin diving equipment (mask, snorkel, fins, boots, etc. — see Equipment Checklist)
Wetsuit (available for rental for the duration of the course for $60, or purchase one at our student discounted price)
Medical clearance if required
